Shoe-Gasm

Its almost like falling in love. It never happens when your looking for it. It sneaks up on you. Catches you by surprise. Hits you so hard you can't even catch your balance. So you just let yourself fall.

For me, it always happens when I'm just window shopping. Browsing. No intentions of buying anything. No shopping money. Just money to live off of till that next pay check. And then you see it. In the window...staring at you. And only you. Mesmerized. Its calling you. You have to try it on.

Your just going to try it on. Thats it. Then leave. Your not, under any circumstances, i repeat NOT, going to buy this amazing, breath taking shoe... that you may never see again.

"a size 12 please"

Maybe they won't have my size. That way, i'll have an excuse to leave. And run out of the mall before it happens again.

She floats from the back, moving in what seems like slow motion, bearing gifts. 2 boxes. A size 11 and a 12. So much for not having my size. Now i HAVE to try it on.

You lift the lid off of the box.Gasp. Its worst then what you excpeted. The impossible. Its even more captivating up close then it was in the window. Phenomenal. Who could make something so perfect, just for me? Was it you God?

You lift the shoe into the air, to get the full 360 view. Your questioned is answered. Almost instantly. Yes, only God could have created something this flawless. A matter of fact, he was just showing off.

The moment of truth. You slip the shoe onto your foot. No struggle. It slides on. Like a glove. You can't stop the smile that stretches across your face. Its simply Stunning. Everything your could have ever dreamed of. Right there, resting perfectly on your foot. Glowing.

Suddenly, all of the anxiety you've had up to this point vanishes. Everything seems alright now. Everything in the world is divinely perfect. So what if you and your boo had an argument this morning. It will be fine by the time i get home. So what if you had a bad day at work today. It'll be better tomorrow. It's just Monday, you can last a week without your lunch money. These God Given shoes, have made my day better. I must have them.

We

Are

Sole-Mates

"i'll take them" you tell the girl. She smiles. Look, she's just as happy for you as you are. She to, knows that these shoes were made for you.

The green card or the blue? It doesn't matter. I just have to have. And i have to have them NOW. If i come back for them, they may not be here! Then what? I'll die a slow and painful death thats what! Besides, what is an overdraft? I just laugh (Trina).

She swipes the card. You wait. The anxiousness, is like a knife stabbed into your gut. Pushed deeper, and deeper in with every second passed. After what seems like an eternity she looks up at you. Your eyes lock. Whats wrong? She smiles again. An angel she is. Nothing is wrong. "Accepted" flashes across the screen. Euphoria sweeps through your body. Feels like fire works on the 4th of July. YES! They are alllll mine! We belong together.

Thank God for these shoes, that have made my whole day worth living. And thank God for the Angel who brought them to me from the back. It was all worth it.

Moral of this Story: Stay out of ALDO between pay checks.
